The title of the movie was supposed to be “The Road Back” but ultimately it was decided as “The Armstrong Lie”. The director of the movie Alex Gibney in this movie has portrayed everything he could about the now infamous Lance Armstrong.
Initially the movie was supposed to be named as the “The Road Back” because when Alex started to make this documentary on Armstrong he was about to make a comeback in his cycling career but with the turn of events things became messy for Lance Armstrong when he was caught for doping allegations for which he has got a lifetime ban in cycling. This has affected massively in the production of the documentary of the seven time Tour de France champion and that is why Alex Gibney has now decided to name the movie “The Armstrong Lie”.
There are many reasons why he went into the bad books of people and also for the panel that were on his case. First of all he denied the fact about the doping when there were many valid evidences against him. On top of that when he was asked to co operate he did not. There were times when he was said that he could go back and rejoin his cycling if he gave them enough information but he chose to keep shut and that has now apparently backfired on him. In a recent tweet from the 7 time champion he has said that he is willing to co operate and will give the required information but it looks like it is too late for him now. The betrayal and anger and everything that has happened since the beginning has now resulted with an 8 year ban. All this and many more things will be there in the documentary that is about to release this year.
